Happy Birthday Audrey Hepburn!!

Audrey Hepburn was born on this day (May 4th) in 1929.
In her honour I thought I would share some of her words, some of her adorable and amazing fashion sense as well as a few items which may help you take on the look of Audrey yourself...Enjoy!!

"I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles."

"As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one fore helping yourself, the other for helping others."

"Everything I learned I learned from the movies."

Conceptual and Creative...

Today I would like to introduce you all to someone who is an amazing talent.
I first met Leah Johnston when she was 8 years old.  We were both involved in a Young Company for musical theatre.  Although now living in L.A., Leah studyed musical theatre at NYU, graduating with a B.F.A in Drama.  Whilst she was in New York City she began experimenting with photography as a hobby while still working on advancing her acting career.  Waiting for auditions to come up in the acting world can really eat you up if you don't have something to do in your downtime or as a hobby.  She began creating self portraits based on a specific concepts or depicting her poetry.

Leah's photography is absolutely stunning with such amazing imagination and vision.

Here are some of my favorites.....
if you enjoy what you see and would like to find out what else Leah is up to you can check out the links below....she shares her inspiration for each photograph as well as a few behind-the-scenes/before and afters which are fascinating.

Leah's book 'Poetic Portraits' is available HERE

Enjoy!

1920 Fashion...

I am currently in rehearsals for the musical Chicago...not only is this show amazing but the style of the show, which is set in the 1920s, is something that I think is so hot!! I love the detailed beading and fringe dresses...the hanging, draping dresses that still offer a lovely feminine look.
Enjoy this collection of great 20s style (all available now on Etsy)...

LIZA!

Yesterday (MARCH 12th) was Liza Minnelli's Birthday and I missed writing a little tribute so here goes...
Liza Minnelli is such an icon...a singer/actress and the daughter of Judy Garland, Liza shot to international fame when she appeared as Sally Bowles in the film version of the Broadway musical Cabaret in 1972...and won the Academy Award for Best Actress.
She has had such an amazing career on stage, on film and in the music industry and is one of the few entertainers who have won an Oscar, Emmy, Grammy AND a Tony Award!

Minnelli has always been show stopping when it comes to fashion and style over the years...she has tried many looks!  Her talent is amazing and I would love to see her live on stage someday...

Here is to Liza...on and off the stage...

"What impressed me was people who were funny and talented and adored life. And that's what I wanted to be like."
